WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PREGAME – #12 New Orleans vs. #5 FAU (Chancellor Dugan)

March Madness is upon us!!  The Owls open the 2010 Sun Belt Tournament today with a first round matchup against New Orleans.  FAU enters as the #5 seed overall and UNO is the #12 seed.  Jared Smith had a chance to sit down with head coach Chancellor Dugan before the game to discuss the first neutral site game for the Owls this year.  FAU also looks to snap an 0-3 winless streak in their Sun Belt Tourney history. 

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL POSTGAME – MTSU 88, FAU 71 (Chancellor Dugan)

Tough loss for the Owls on senior day.  FAU fell to MTSU 88-71 as the home team tied a season-high with 25 turnovers.  Head Coach Chancellor Dugan joined Jared Smith on the postgame show to discuss the loss and preview next week’s Sun Belt Tournament.  To read more about the game, click here.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL POSTGAME – WKU 80, FAU 74 (Chancellor Dugan interview)

Tough loss for the Owls tonight as they could not contain Western Kentucky on the inside.  The Lady Toppers outscored FAU 38-18 in the paint en route to an 80-74 victory on Wednesday night in Boca Raton.  Carla Stubbs scored a season-high 20 points and Brittany Bowe added 16 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the loss.  To read more about the game, click here.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PREGAME – WKU @ FAU (2/24/10)

FAU looks for its first ever victory over Western Kentucky tonight at the Burrow at 7 p.m.  The Owls are 0-7 all-time against the Lady Toppers and have already fallen to WKU 76-57.  Head coach Chancellor Dugan joined Jared Smith on the pregame show to talk about the keys to the game. 

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL POSTGAME: FAU 78, Troy 67 (Coach Dugan postgame)

Big victory tonight for the FAU women’s hoops team!  They earn their 10th conference win and sixth road conference victory with a 78-67 effort over Troy tonight at Trojan Arena.  Brittany Bowe scored a career-high 24 points and made 12-of-18 free-throws.  To read more about the game, click here.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL POSTGAME – FIU 59, FAU 42 (Coach Dugan postgame)

Tough night for FAU on the women’s harwood.  The Owls shot just 30 percent in a 59-42 loss at the hands of FIU in Miami.  FAU finished 2-of-13 from behind the arc and leading scorer Lyrell Barfield was held to only one point.  To read more, click here.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PREGAME: FAU @ FIU (Carla Stubbs interview)

The Owls fly south tonight to take on in-state rival FIU in Miami.  The Owls will look to avenge a hard-fought 77-75 overtime defeat at the hands of the Golden Panthers back on January 30 in Boca Raton.  Senior forward and Miami native Carla Stubbs joined Jared Smith for the pregame interview to talk about the upcoming game and returning home to play. 

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL POSTGAME: FAU 84, Louisiana 75 (Coach Dugan)

The Owls scrap and claw their way to a third straight victory and five of their last six.  Not a pretty one but FAU gets the “W” on the strength of a career-high performance from Teri Stamps (21 points).  Brittany Bowe and Carla Stubbs also surpassed milestones as the pair of seniors each reached the 1,000-point mark during the game.  To read the full story, click here.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PREGAME – Louisiana @ FAU (Lyrell Barfield)

FAU looks for its third straight victory tonight at home against Louisiana-Lafayette.  Reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week Lyrell Barfield joined radio broadcaster Jared Smith prior to tip-off for the pregame interview.  The Miami native scored 49 points and posted back-to-back career-highs in a pair of road victories over North Texas and Denver during the last week.  Barfield is the second SUn Belt Player of the Week in FAU Women’s Basketball history, following Breana Turner’s selection last season.
